Welcome! I'm Regal, and this is my dark domain. This is a small-scale web project meant as an alternative to my NeoCities site. Consider this a portable hub for my links, interests, projects, etc. Please check out my links, and enjoy your stay.
ABOUT
π¬ππππ πΈπ:
Greetings. My name is Kev, but I primarily go by Regal online. I'm a late-20s autistic, nonbinary (they/any), queer, and early-career Environmental Scientist from sunny Southern California (ironically).I specialized in Arctic abiotic-biotic interactions with an emphasis on the role of ππππ, but I now work with sensitive and endangered species within the state of California.
π΄ππππππππ:
I have a deep love for creating, and you may often find me working on my Fakemon region, Nostos, based on California and the general sense of nostalgia attached to my fundamental years. Beyond this, I have a deep interest in creature design, ecology, gothic aesthetics, and alternative music.

VIRTUAL PETS
Although I am an Environmental Scientist and artist by trade, my side job is to be a collector. I collect many things that catch my interest ranging from Godzilla figures, PokΓ©mon merch, and random trinkets from the many, many series I enjoy. However, one of my most substantial and best organized collections includes my virtual pet collection.
Background
I was first introduce to virtual pets by my late father back in mid to late 2000s. Being autistic, I had become deeply attached to the concept of collecting and categorizing creatures thanks to the likes of PokΓ©mon and Digimon. While my father was not the most observant, this trait of mine was hard to avoid, so after a long semester of working hard to earn good grades, he bought me my first Tamagotchi, a Connection v3. If I recall correctly, it was a Surf Blue shell. And so, a short-lived but very impactful tradition began.
The whereabouts of my first Tamagotchi are unknown, but I received a Green Snake Tamagotchi Connection v3 to make up for the loss. I did my best to take excellent care of it and took it everywhere I went ensuring I did not lose it. Unfortunately, I left it in the hands of my mom (who did not understand the concept of virtual pets) during a vacation to a beach town. This was the first time I had not directly cared for the Tamagotchi, so she assumed that taking care of my Tamagotchi meant to simply ensure it was not stolen. She had it by her side as the two sunbathed, but while my mom got a nice tan, my Tamagotchi passed away for good.
I moped for some time, and while my dad got me some cheap Gigapets or Rabbit Roms to distract me, none really filled the void. That was until he got me what I now consider my holy grail of Tamagotchis: the Space Trip Tamagotchi Connection v5 (Familitchi). This version, to this day, is my favorite. At the time, I created a blog where I would share weekly updates, and I even asked my mom to sew together a small bed for my Tamagotchi. It created so many core memories that I still hold with me to this day. It is now lost to time, but I hope to indirectly reunite with it someday soon.
